Back pain
As your pregnancy progresses, your uterus grows in size and pulls on the ligaments in your pelvis. This can cause strain on your lower back. The solution is to lift the uterus, so it causes less strain. You can buy a maternity belt that will help lift the uterus. It can really help the back pain.
Other ways to improve your back pain is to incorporate stretching into your routine.
This helps loosen the muscle in your bottom- the piriformis. You can also perform the stretch standing, which may be easier with the pregnant belly. Support yourself with you hand and place one leg over the opposite knee. Then squat and feel the release.
Start by laying on the ground and squeezing something small between your knees. You can use a small ball or your partner’s fist. Squeeze for 5 seconds. Then add a bigger object, or a second fist side-by-side. Squeeze for 5 seconds. Then add an even bigger object, or your partner’s wrist-to-elbow. Squeeze for 5 seconds.
If back pain is accompanied by fever, burning with urination, or nausea/vomiting, you should be evaluated.
